Komunikasi merupakan ruh bagi seorang pemimpin, agar berhasil dalam melaksanakan fungsi kepemimpinannya, yaitu dalam hal menginspirasi, mempengaruhi dan mengajak anggota untuk mencapai sasaran-sasaran organisasi. Melalui komunikasi pula lah, seorang pemimpin mampu melakukan diplomasi, mempengaruhi dan memberi dampak positif bagi perilaku kerja anggotanya, yang pada akhirnya mampu mencapai hasil sesuai dan bahkan melebihi sasaran-sasaran organisasi/unit kerja.
